Inspiration in the Kitchen – part 1

It might be strange, but some people think that it’s not possible for small children to like broccoli. Why not? There are lots of tasty dishes that include broccoli in their list of ingredients. One of them is “Oscar’s Delight”.

I found that recipe in a book by Annabel Karmel that I got from a friend. I decided to give it a go because the list of ingredients was very short (there are only four of them) and it was a nice way to introduced egg yolk into my Litle One’s diet. Also, that recipe reminded me of the dish I’d often cooked in my child-free time for lunch. Now it seems to have been ages ago.

Nappies:What choice is the best? (part 1)

Are disposable nappies a real godsend? Are reusable nappies a real nightmare? My friend would swear blind that there is nothing better than the former and I could understand her. She and her husband spent hours cleaning and boiling terry nappies and their firstborn’s clothes after regular accidents. Also, their flat became humid and it took ages for nappies to dry. By trial and error – part 1

Reading up on the issue of settling babies to sleep at night, I understood that the key to success is a good routine, the so-called 4Bs: breast/bottle for milk, bath, book, bed (the first two could be swapped, but it was important to separate milk and bed).

Unfortunately, I read about this routine some time after my little one was born. Before that, I’d concentrated more on issues of fitness in pregnancy and labour. Also, in our antenatal class, we hadn’t learnt a lot about dealing with a baby.
