Inspiration in the Kitchen – part 2

A new change was made when I was looking for a better way of giving spinach to our Little One. To tell the truth, neither my husband nor I eat spinach, but I was so impressed by its description in a book by David Rathgeber, that I decided to give it a try, at least for our Little One meals. I steamed the spinach and then I blended it with the yolk. The new dish was eaten without any problems.

The latest addition to the recipe is some peas. Last week, I realised that our Little One hadn’t had any peas recently and improved “Oscar’s delight” was the only dish I could add them to. Little One left his plate clean, so the peas might stay there.

I don’t know what I should call the dish. It can’t be called “Oscar’s delight” since I’ve changed the recipe a lot. (Actually, I’ve never cooked “Oscar’s delight”.) I think it should get a different name. The recipe in the book was called “Oscar’s delight” because it had the same green colour as Oscar, the character from Sesame Street. Added spinach brings out the colour making it greener and the other colours (white and yellow) almost disappear.I might simply name the dish a Green Fantasy or “Hidden Daisies in the Field”.

Here is the list of ingredients for my recipe:

  • broccoli
  • cauliflower
  • courgette
  • spinach
  • apple
  • hard-boiled egg yolk
  • peas
  • cheese
