The course is over.

Finally, the course is over. Suddenly, I’ve got free time in the evenings and I’m feeling a bit strange. Of course, there are other things to do, but there’s no need to do several things at once. I don’t need to wonder if there’s going to be good light next weekend and where to go to take pictures for a weekly assignment.

The last two weeks on the course were a bit hectic. I needed to choose my ten best pictures and answer 3 questions, writing about 600 words in total. Also, I were going to take more shots using different techniques.

To tell the truth, I didn’t shoot anything for about three weeks. Not only was this because my family and I were down with several bugs in a row, but I actually didn’t feel like taking pictures — I’d had too much.

It took me a while to complete the end-of-course assessment. Although I’d taken about 300 shots during the first seven weeks of the course, it was difficult to choose ten pictures. I often took lots of shots of the same scene trying to get my settings right since I’ve just started using a manual mode. Sometimes it was difficult to decide which aperture and shutter speed were the best. Should I have gone for a narrow ‘depth of field’ or stopped my camera down? Should I have set a slow shutter speed to highlight the movement of the object?

I sent my work in the night before the deadline and now I’m having some rest before Christmas.

If you would like to have a look, my pictures are here.

Tana, I just looked at your photos. They are incredible! You have captured the life of the subject in each one. There is a website that offers photos for others’ use. It is http://sxc.hu. Maybe you could sell your photos there. Just an idea.
